How to Read the Origin Sub-Tab

The Origin sub-tab provides essential details about the mother parcel and how its stones and carat weight were distributed to the child. Each field has a specific role in maintaining traceability:

  • Mother Parcel: The original parcel from which the child was created.
  • Country: The country where the mother parcel originated.
  • Mining Company: The company responsible for mining the mother parcel.
  • Mine: The specific mine where the mother parcel was extracted.
  • Weight (Carat): The total weight of the stones taken from the mother parcel for the child.
  • Stones Shared: The number of stones that were extracted from the mother parcel to create the child.
  • Percentage Carat Shared: The proportion of the mother parcel’s total carat weight that was transferred to the child.
  • Percentage Stone Shared: The proportion of the mother parcel’s total stone that was transferred to the child.

For example, if the Stones Shared field shows "3" and the Weight (Carat) field shows "2.5 ct," it means three stones weighing a total of 2.5 carats were taken from the mother parcel to create the child.
