SCS Producers - Mandatory Fields for Growing Stage
When importing parcels in iTraceiT, the information a producer must provide is essential to establish the initial digital identity of the material.
Important: This article applies only to clients under SCS Global Services. If you are not an SCS certified Producer, Handler, or Jeweler, this content does not apply to your workflow.
Producers have a specific set of mandatory fields to ensure traceability, validation, certification readiness and data consistency, while other fields are optional and can be used to enrich production information.
This article explains which fields are mandatory and which are optional for producers, and clarifies how this information is later used during SCS validation and by downstream actors in the supply chain.
Correctly completing the required fields at the producer stage is critical, as this data forms the foundation for all downstream traceability and validation processes.
Producer Profile
Producers are responsible for creating the initial digital identity of the material. The information entered at this stage becomes the reference point for all future transformations, transfers, validations and certifications.
Mandatory fields for import
Producers must complete all core production related fields when creating or importing a parcel. These fields are required to create a valid parcel in iTraceiT and cannot be left empty.
The mandatory fields for producers are:
- parcel reference
- weight
- country
- scs_weight_mother_total_grown
- scs_production_date
- scs_machine_mother_id
These fields ensure that the parcel can be uniquely identified and that its origin and production context are clearly defined.
For producers, mandatory fields focus on origin and production data that establish the digital identity of the material and allow SCS validation. Completing the mandatory fields correctly ensures reliable traceability and a smooth validation process before the parcel moves downstream.
