SCS Jewelers – How to Merge Parcels from Different Suppliers for a Jewelry Order

In the SCS certification process, jewelers often receive several parcels and invoices from different certified suppliers, even when all stones will be used for a single finished product such as a batch of rings, pendants, or bracelets. When this happens, it is usually necessary to merge the parcels before creating the final jewelry pieces.

The Merge function in iTraceiT allows you to combine parcels from different suppliers into one new parcel, called the master parcel. This master parcel represents the complete inventory of stones that will be used for your jewelry order, while keeping full traceability and origin percentages from each supplier.

Using the Merge template ensures that the combination of parcels is done correctly and that all details remain available for SCS certification.

This article explains how to merge parcels from different suppliers using the Merge template step by step.

Combine Multiple Parcels into One Master Parcel

  • Step 1: Log in to iTraceiT and go to Tools.

  • Step 2: Select Import Parcels.

  • Step 3: Click on Import Guide. A pop-up window will open.

  • Step 4: Click Download to get the official Excel template for merging parcels.

  • Step 5: Open the template and fill in the required columns:
    • Action: enter M to indicate a merge.
    • Ref Target: enter the internal reference ID of the target parcel
    • (the one that will contain the merge)
    • Ref Source 1: enter the reference ID of the first source parcel
    • Weight (ct) Source 1: enter the weight taken from source 1 (in carats)
    • Number of Stones 1: enter the number of stones taken from source 1
    • Ref Source 2: enter the reference ID of the second source parcel
    • Weight Source 2: enter the weight taken from source 2 (in carats)
    • Stones Source 2: enter the number of stones taken from source 2
    • Ref Source 3: enter the reference ID of the third source parcel
    • Weight Source 3: enter the weight taken from source 3 (in carats)
    • Stones Source 3: enter the number of stones taken from source 3
Each line in the Excel file represents one merged parcel.

  • Step 6: Save your Excel file once all required information has been entered.

  • Step 7: Return to the Import Parcels screen. Drag and drop the file or click Select Files to upload it.

  • Step 8: Click Upload.

  • Step 9: The system will automatically check your file for errors. If there are no errors, click Complete. The system will generate and register the new merged parcel with its own QR code.

iTraceiT will now create your new master parcel and link it to all the source parcels you listed.

The system keeps a detailed breakdown showing the weight, stone count, and origin contribution of each supplier parcel. This ensures that the mixed parcel remains fully traceable and compliant with SCS requirements.

Your master parcel is now ready for jewelry production and will serve as the starting point for creating the individual jewelry pieces.

How the merge preserves SCS origin percentages

When multiple supplier parcels are merged, iTraceiT calculates the origin distribution based on the contribution of each source parcel. The master parcel displays:

  • The mixed origin for the combined stones
  • A detailed breakdown showing each contributing supplier or country and its percentage

These details remain available throughout the SCS certification process and ensure complete transparency.

Merging parcels from multiple suppliers allows jewelers to consolidate all stones needed for a jewelry order while maintaining full traceability and origin percentages. By creating one master parcel through the Merge template, you simplify your workflow, prepare clean data for the Split process, and ensure your final jewelry pieces remain compliant with SCS certification standards.
