Overview of the Origin Column

The Origin column in iTraceiT provides essential insights into the source of each parcel and how its stones and carat weight have been distributed

This column ensures full transparency by recording key details about the mother parcel and visualizing the distribution of weights and stones across different origins.

The Origin column is divided into two sub-tabs:

  1. Origin: Displays detailed information about the mother parcel and how its stones and carats were assigned to the child.
  2. Percentages: Provides a breakdown of the carat distribution by country of origin and mine in percentage format.

This article explains the purpose and functionality of each sub-tab to help users navigate the interface effectively.

1. Origin Sub-Tab


The Origin sub-tab presents specific details about the original parcel and its split, allowing users to track the journey of stones and carats from their source. It includes:

  • Mother Parcel: The original parcel  (or from which the child was created).
  • Country: The country where the mother parcel was mined.
  • Mining Company: The company responsible for extracting the mother parcel.
  • Mine: The specific mine where the mother parcel originated.
  • Weight (Carat): The total weight of the stones (also taken from the mother parcel for the child).
  • Stones Shared: The number of stones (also extracted from the mother parcel to create the child).
  • Percentage Carat Shared: The proportion of the mother parcel’s total carat weight that was transferred to the child for example.

This sub-tab ensures that all parcel transformations are accurately recorded, allowing for seamless tracking of origin data.

2. Percentages Sub-Tab


The Percentages sub-tab provides a visual representation of how the total carat weight is distributed by:

  • Country of Origin: Displays the percentage of total carat weight that originated from each country.
  • Mine: Shows the percentage of total carat weight extracted from each specific mine.

This view helps you quickly assess the geographical distribution of the stones and carats, providing valuable insights for compliance, reporting, and traceability validation.

 

The Origin column is a key component of iTraceiT, offering both detailed parcel history and a high-level view of carat and stone distribution. By using the Origin and Percentages sub-tabs, users can verify the source of their stones, ensure accuracy in reporting, and maintain full transparency in their tracking processes.
